BUT WE ARE FRUGIVORES
Are We Natural Meat-Eaters or Are We Natural Vegetarians?
Sink Your Teeth into This!
Most "nutritionists" assert that we have definite carnivorous leanings, and some have even termed our incisor teeth "fangs" in defense of their erroneous position that humans are natural meat-eaters! If you look at the various species in the animal kingdom, each is equipped with teeth that are ideally suited to masticate a particular type of food. Herbivores (like the cow) have 24 molars, eight jagged incisors in the lower jaw and a horny palate in the upper jaw. Their jaws move vertically, laterally, forward, and backward, enabling the herbivore to tear and grind coarse grasses. Omnivores (like the hog) may have tusk-like canines allowing them to dig up roots. Frugivores (like the chimpanzee) have 32 teeth: sixteen in each jaw including four incisors, two cuspids, four bicuspids, and six molars. The cuspids are adapted for cracking nuts, and the uniform articulation of the teeth enables the frugivore to mash and grind fruits. On the contrary, carnivores (like the cat family) have markedly developed canines that are long, sharp, cylindrical, pointed, and set apart from the other teeth. Fangs and sharp pointed teeth that penetrate and kill, that rip and tear flesh, are a feature of all true carnivores (except certain birds). The powerful jaws of the carnivore move only vertically, and are ideal for ripping and tearing flesh that is swallowed virtually whole and then acted upon by extremely potent gastric juices. Human teeth are not designed for tearing flesh as in the lion, wolf or dog, but rather compare closely with other fruit-eating animals. Human teeth correspond almost identically to the chimpanzees and other frugivores. The complete absence of spaces between human teeth characterizes us as the archetype frugivore. The "canine" teeth of humans are short, stout, and slightly triangular. They are less pronounced and developed than the orangutans, who rarely kills and eats raw flesh in its natural environment. Human canines in no way resemble the long, round, slender canines of the true carnivore. Human teeth are not curved or sharp like the wolves or tigers, nor are they wide and flat like the grass and grain-eating species. Human teeth are actually like the fruit-eating monkeys, and the human mouth is best suited for eating succulent fruits and vegetables. It would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for humans to eat raw flesh without the aid of fork and knife. To term our incisor teeth "fangs" or even to liken them as such is outrageous.
'Linneaus, who introduced binomial nomenclature (naming plants
and animals according to their physical structure) wrote:
"Man's structure, external and internal, compared with that of other animals
shows that fruit and succulent vegetables constitute his natural food.

"Veganism can resurrect Eden and create heaven on Earth. We can have a place where humans view animals in awe and animals view humans with a curious aloofness. It's time to reconnect to the natural world for the sake of the animals, the environment and humanity. Protecting the weak is the first step to enlightenment and being truly civilized. Without animal liberation, as author Milan Kundera explains, there can be no peace on Earth: "Mankind's true moral test, its fundamental test which lies deeply buried from view, consists of its attitude towards those who are at its mercy: animals. And in this respect mankind has suffered a fundamental debacle, a debacle so fundamental that all others stem from it.

are you aware of this?
The Creation of the Entity Consciousness!
From out of the spirit-essence of Source Intelligence, flowing from First Source, each of you is born. As particles of light leavened by Source Intelligence to arise and secure individual consciousness, you are born an immortal entity that shares the essence of First Source in non-time and non-space. This is the Entity consciousness that is imbued with the Wholeness Navigator that permits the Entity to separate from First Source into individuality, but remain guided by Source Intelligence.
The entity is the highest state of consciousness, dwelling in a state of total awareness of all lesser instruments or bodies, which feed it experience and insight. The entity consciousness is the infallible observer of experience and synthesizer of insight. In all respects, it is a miniature of First Source, lacking only the experiential relationship with time and space that develops its sense of empowerment to act independently of First Source.
It is precisely this sense of independence that the birth of the entity begets. It is the central part of the blueprint of exploration because without this sense of independence, exploration of the cosmos and its various fields of vibration would be limited to the perception of First Source, peering through the lens of Source Intelligence. By definition it is a single dimensional perception, and therefore, an incomplete exploration. First Source decreed this exploration as a result of its creation of the multiverse, and when it was created, First Source summoned itself in the form of light particles and cast these particles into separation.
The first of these creations was bestowed an individual identity through the use of a physical instrument known as a light body. The density of this body was sufficient to block the separated particles from First Source's dominant reality. In doing so, the particles became autonomous explorers and quickly populated the innermost realms of the Universe of Wholeness. However, they never ventured into the outer realms of creation where the density of vibration decelerated time to such an extent that exploration in bodies was impossible, owing to the great distance.
These initial entities understood that their existence held a very specific purpose, which was to construct a vehicle for the newly created entity consciousness to inhabit so the individuated spirit-form could enter the most remote sections of the multiverse and explore, experience, and learn from them. This would be similar to constructing a deep-sea diving suit that permits a diver to explore the sea bottom. First Source, working through Source Intelligence, could perceive the outermost realms of creation, but it was unable to experience them and, therefore, acquire wisdom about the very things First Source created.
WingMakers were the first creations that housed the entity consciousness. We are the architects and designers of the human instrument in all of its various forms throughout the multiverse. The human species is not unique in the multiverse. There are many variations on other planets within your known universe. Nearly all of you have experience in these other realms of the universe, but you are not able to translate these experiences to your conscious mind. Even so, as First Source birthed the entity consciousness, the WingMakers created the instruments of exploration that enabled this newly formed consciousness to explore the dense vibratory realms of the outermost creation.
Because the vibratory rate of the physical universe is decelerated to such an extent that particles solidify into clusters of objects, time decelerates into sequential frames of perception, allowing the entity consciousness to explore multiple worlds simultaneously. This enables one entity to explore hundreds, if not thousands, of worlds in a single frame of time. This creates the perception -- albeit dimly felt by most of you -- that you have lived before and that you will live again.
In reality, if you are within a human instrument, you are immortal light consciousness gathered from the same substance as First Source. You were born of this substance, and you will never die from it. It is not possible to discard or revoke this most pure of vibrations that is your core identity. Deep inside of you there is no doubt of this truth. There is only the question of why you were individuated.

eckhart tolle quotes
"Your inner purpose is to awaken. It is as simple as that. You share that purpose with every other person on the planet – because it is the purpose of humanity. Your inner purpose is an essential part of the purpose of the whole. Your outer purpose can change over time. It varies greatly from person to person. Finding and living in alignment with the inner purpose is the foundation for fulfilling your outer purpose. It is the basis for true success."
"The energy field of old but still very-much-alive emotion that lives in almost every human being is the pain-body. The pain-body, however, is not just individual in nature. It also partakes of the pain suffered by countless humans throughout the history of humanity."

Canadian Seal Hunt
Harp seal pups are famous for their big black eyes and fluffy white fur. These are their trademarks in their first two weeks of life.
But these beautiful and gentle creatures have the unfortunate status of annually suffering the largest slaughter of any marine mammal species on the planet.
Every spring, great numbers of pregnant harp seals gather together on the stark ice floes off the Canadian Atlantic coastline of Newfoundland and Labrador and in the Gulf of St. Lawrence to the east of Quebec to give birth to their babies.
Commonly referred to as whitecoats, these famous babies are astounding in their innocence, individuality, and beauty. Their images have been captured in a thousand ways and distributed around the world, making them the most recognizable and well known of nature's innocent and precious creatures. It is ironic and sad that all this recognition does nothing to help their plight as these seal pups are the victims of a brutal annual massacre in a politically-driven, propaganda-supported slaughter.
Every year, when the time is "right" (as soon as the ice conditions permit and the seal pups start shedding their fuzzy white coats), about 2,000 to 6,000 Canadian fishermen (most of European descent and most living in Newfoundland and the Magdalen Islands of Quebec), find their way to the floes and proceed to club, bludgeon, shoot, and skin hundreds of thousands of harp seals, most just a few weeks to a few months old.
The Harsh Reality of the 'Hunt'
Today's modern seal "hunt"
isn't really much of a hunt at all...
Depending on the condition of the ice flows, the sealers can have varying degrees of difficulty in getting to the seals. Methods include: walking from their trucks, driving up to them with their snowmobiles, taking commercial icebreaking boats to distant ice flows, then getting out of the boats and walking to them, or shooting seals from the larger ships or smaller boats. Canadian Coast Guard Icebreaker ships often locate seal herds and shepherd sealers to them by breaking a path through the ice for them. Aerial reconnaissance is also used to locate the seals.
Once they find the seals, the true horrific nature of this bizarre event unfolds. In the first phase of the hunt (in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, dominated by sealers from the Magdalen Islands of Quebec), sealers typically approach the seals and then club them with 'hakapiks' (long sticks with a hooked blade at one end). After clubbing the seals, they are supposed to perform the 'blinking-eye' test, checking whether the seals blink, before skinning them. If the seal is not dead, sealers may dispatch the seal with a variety of methods, including kicking in the face and/ or continuing to beat the seal pups on the head with the hakapiks. The sealer may move on to other seals before skinning them or may skin them at that time. He will drag the seal to the boat with the hook end of the hakapik. If the sealer did not bother to check whether the seal was dead, the seal may conscious when the hooked blade is plunged into its mouth or head.
An analysis by a panel of veterinarians showed that about 40% of the seals are actually skinned alive.
In the second phase of the seal hunt, on the Front, in the waters off Newfoundland and Labrador, seals are more mobile and able to swim, so sealers (mostly Newfoundland fishermen) typically shoot them from their boats. They aim for the head to avoid damaging the pelt. If they miss and wound the seal, they may get out of the boat and club the seal, unless the seal gets away into the water. In that case, the seal likely dies in the water and may never be recovered (or counted towards the quota). Sealers retrieve the seals with hooks, e.g., the hooked end of the hakapik, so if the seal was not killed by the bullet, it may be conscious when the hook is plunged into its mouth and it is dragged on the boat.
Adults and resisting mothers may be shot and/ or clubbed and skinned and in the case of males, may have their penis bones removed. (Typically the penis bones are harvested from adult males). If convenient to do so, some of the bodies are recovered and processed into pet food or used to feed the animals in fur farms (though this is rare). About 95% of the seals killed in the commercial seal 'hunt' are no more than 3 months old.
In 2008, Canada's Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO), set new standards for sealers to follow when killing seals. In addition to the blinking-eye test, the DFO now instructs sealers to palpate the seal's skull to assess whether it has been fatally crushed before proceeding to skin the seal. If the skull does not seem to have such a fatal wound, sealers are supposed to sever the main artery. In order to instruct sealers on the new standards, the Canadian Sealers Association sent individuals around Newfoundland with an instructional video a few weeks before the start of the hunt.
Each year, sealers kill about 1/3 of the pups born. This number does not include those seals that slip away wounded into the ice holes and sea leads. The seals killed by Canadian sealers must also be added to the natural (and human-driven) mortality. As global warming makes the ice floes less reliable, this mortality is on the rise.

How You Can Help
Canadian Seafood Boycott
The Canadian sealers are fishermen. Sealing is an off-season activity for them, a way to earn a few bucks before the start of the fishing season. Since seal fur and other seal products are illegal in the U.S (thanks to the Marine Mammal Protection Act), Americans can't boycott the seal pelts. But these fishermen sell their seafood to Americans. The Canadian seafood boycott allows us to pressure sealers to stop killing seals - or risk losing their main source of income.
What Seafood is Being Boycotted?
All Canadian seafood is being boycotted, but seafood from Atlantic Canada, where the seal hunt takes place, is a special focus. Below, we list common species caught by Canadian fishermen.
Please also consider avoiding all seafood as the best way to help the ocean ecosystems recover from decades of industrial-scale fishing that is jeopardizing the future of seals and all other marine mammals that depend on fish for their survival.
Common seafood from Atlantic Canada:
**Atlantic Halibut **Cod Cold-water
**Shrimp (i.e.
, cocktail shrimp) **Flounder (Plaice)
**Haddock **Hake (Silver, White) **Herring
**Lobster **Mackerel **Mussels **Ocean perch
**Pollock **Prawns
**Sardines **Scallops **Snow crab **Sole
**SwordfishTuna (Yellowfin, Bigeye, Bluefin)
**Turbot (Greenland halibut)
Common seafood from Pacific Canada:
**Alaskan Pollock **Canary Rockfish **Dungeness Crab **Geoduck clams **Hard-shell clams **Horse clams **Lemon Sole **Lingcod Pacific Cod **Pacific Hake **Pacific Halibut **Pacific Herring **Pacific Ocean Perch **Pacific Oysters **Pacific Red Snapper **Pink cold-water shrimp **Sablefish **Salmon (Chinook, Chum, Coho, Pink, Sockeye) **Silvergrey Rockfish **Rock Sole
Seafood sold in grocery stores should have Country of Origin Labels (according to COOL legislation in the U.S.), but there are exceptions to the law. Seafood that is pre-cooked and sold at the fresh fish counter (e.g., snow crabs and shrimp) does not have to be labeled. Neither does seafood that is part of a meal (e.g., linguini with shrimp or clam sauce).
Seafood sold in restaurants does not have to be labeled, but sometimes the menu indicates the country of origin (e.g., Prince Edward Island Mussels, from Prince Edward Island, Canada).
I think the best way to make sure, is not not eat ANY seafood!
Another good reason to GO VEG!!
Efforts to Close Seal Pelt Markets
The European Union is now working on a complete ban of seal product imports.
Closing the markets to seal products is the best way to end the commercial seal hunt.
With little hope of making money on seal pelts, sealers will not find much motivation for going out into the treacherous icy waters to find and kill seals. Unfortunately, seal pelts are sold around the world, including in Asia, where seal activism is weak. Consequently, the efforts to close the pelt markets can be expected to result in partial success at best.
Nevertheless, this important effort has been undertaken by many nations. The United States banned imports of seal products as well as products from other marine mammals in 1972, with the passage of the Marine Mammal Protection Act. Mexico, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands enacted bans on seal product imports recently. (In the case of Mexico, this extended to all marine mammals and products from them.
)
Most Canadian harp seal pelts are initially purchased by Norwegian companies, especially G.C. Reiber and Co. Norway is not a member of the European Union and would therefore not be directly affected by a total EU ban on seal imports. However, Norway does not provide the main market for the finished products (coats, boots, etc.). From Norway and other importing nations, the pelts or finished products are sold around Europe and Asia.
Therefore a total ban on seal product imports into the EU (including Cape fur seal product imports), will deal a major blow to Norway's seal pelt industry due to the closing of the European Union market. This will not, however, eliminate European sales of seal products to non-EU-member nations, such as Russia and Ukraine.

Canadian Tourism Boycott
By boycotting tourism to Canada, especially to Newfoundland and the Magdalen Islands of Quebec, seal hunt opponents can pressure sealers and their supporters to change their stance on the seal hunt.
Those who oppose the seal hunt should let the Canadian government, Canadian tourist agencies, and operators of tourist establishments in Canada know that you are boycotting Canadian tourism until the seal hunt is banned permanently.
Contact Canada's Minister of International Trade
Tell Canada's Minister of International Trade, David Emerson, that the seal hunt damages Canada's international reputation, and remind him that it has resulted in ongoing global boycotts of Canadian seafood and tourism.
Say that a hunt opposed by most Canadian citizens shouldn't be allowed to harm Canada's economy.

positive thinking
People with positive attitudes generally enjoy life more, but are they any healthier? The answer is often "yes." Optimism is a resource for healing. Optimists are more likely to overcome pain and adversity in their efforts to improve their medical treatment outcomes. For example, optimistic coronary bypass patients generally recover more quickly and have fewer complications after surgery than do patients who are less hopeful.1, 2
Your body responds to your thoughts, emotions, and actions. In addition to staying fit, eating right, and managing stress, you can use the following three strategies to help maintain your health:
1. Create positive expectations for health and healing.
Mental and emotional expectations can influence medical outcomes. The effectiveness of any medical treatment depends in part on how useful you expect it to be. The "placebo effect" proves this. A placebo is a drug or treatment that provides no medical benefit except for the patient's belief that it will help. Many patients who receive placebos report satisfactory relief from their medical problem, even though they received no actual medicine.
Changing your expectations from negative to positive may enhance your physical health. Here's how to make the change:
Stop all negative self-talk. Make positive statements that promote your recovery.
Send yourself a steady stream of affirmations. An affirmation is a phrase or sentence that sends strong, positive statements to you about yourself, such as "I am a capable person" or "My joints are strong and flexible."
Visualize health and healing. Add mental pictures that support your positive affirmations.
Don't feel guilty. There is no value in feeling guilty about health problems. While there is a lot you can do to reduce your risk for health problems and improve your chances of recovery, some illnesses may develop and persist no matter what you do. Some things just are. Do the best you can.
2. Open yourself to humor, friendship, and love.
Positive emotions boost your health. Fortunately, almost anything that makes you feel good about yourself helps you stay healthy.
Laugh. A little humor makes life richer and healthier. Laughter increases creativity, reduces pain, and speeds healing. Keep an emergency laughter kit that contains funny videotapes, jokes, cartoons, and photographs. Put it with your first-aid supplies and keep it well stocked.
Seek out friends. Friendships are vital to good health. Close social ties help you recover more quickly from illness and reduce your risk of developing diseases ranging from arthritis to depression.
Volunteer. People who volunteer live longer and enjoy life more than those who do not volunteer. By helping others, we help ourselves.
Plant a plant and pet a pet. Plants and pets can be highly therapeutic. When you stroke an animal, your blood pressure goes down and your heart rate slows. Animals and plants help us feel needed.
3. Appeal to a higher power.
If you believe in a higher power, ask for support in your pursuit of healing and health. Faith, prayer, and spiritual beliefs can play an important role in recovering from an illness. See healing touch and prayer.
Your sense of spiritual wellness can help you overcome personal trials and things you cannot change. If it suits you, use spiritual images in visualizations, affirmations, and expectations about your health and your life.

Native American Indian Traditional Code of Ethics
1. Each morning upon rising, and each evening before sleeping, give thanks for the life within you and for all life, for the good things the Creator has given you and for the opportunity to grow a little more each day. Consider your thoughts and actions of the past day and seek for the courage and strengthto be a better person. Seek for the things that will benefit others (everyone).
2. Respect. Respect means "To feel or show honor or esteem for someone or something; to consider the well being of, or to treat someone or somethin with deference or courtesy". Showing respect is a basic law of life.
a. Treat every person from the tiniest child to the oldest elder with respect at all times.....
b. Special respect should be given to Elders, Parents, Teachers, and Community Leaders.....
c. No person should be made to feel "put down" by you; avoid hurting other hearts as you would avoid a deadly poison.....
d. Touch nothing that belongs to someone else (especially Sacred Objects) without permission, or an understanding between you. ....
e. Respect the privacy of every person, never intrude on a person's quiet moment or personal space.....
f. Never walk between people that are conversing. ....
g. Never interrupt people who are conversing.....
h. Speak in a soft voice, especially when you are in the presence of Elders, strangers or others to whom special respect is due.....
i. Do not speak unless invited to do so at gatherings where Elders are present (except to ask what is expected of you, should you be in doubt).
j. Never speak about others in a negative way, whether they are present or not.
k. Treat the earth and all of her aspects as your mother. Show deep respect for the mineral world, the plant world, and the animal world. Do nothing to pollute our Mother, rise up with wisdom to defend her. ....
l. Show deep respect for the beliefs and religion of others.....
m. Listen with courtesy to what others say, even if you feel that what they are saying is worthless. Listen with your heart.....
n. Respect the wisdom of the people in council. Once you give an idea to a council meeting it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the people. Respect demands that you listen intently to the ideas of others in council and that you do not insist that your idea prevail. Indeed you should freely support the ideas of others if they are true and good, even if those ideas ideas are quite different from the ones you have contributed. The clash of ideas brings forth the Spark of Truth.....
3. Once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that no one speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will become apparent to everyone in its own time.....
4. Be truthful at all times, and under all conditions.....
5. Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, your best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guests.....
6. The hurt of one is the hurt of all, the honor of one is the honor of all.....
7. Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family.....
8. All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful. As children of the Creator they must all be respected.....
9. To serve others, to be of some use to family, community, nation, and the world is one of the main purposes for which human beings have been created. Do not fill yourself with your own affairs and forget your most important talks. True happiness comes only to those who dedicate their lives to the service of others.....
10. Observe moderation and balance in all things.....
11. Know those things that lead to your well-being, and those things that lead to your destruction.....
12. Listen to and follow the guidance given to your heart. Expect guidance to come in many forms; in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and in the words and deeds of wise Elders and friends. ....

For each human there is a tree that is just like you
If you are acting as though you carry
the whole world upon your shoulders,
you will see a tree that is bowed down
Some trees appear to be tall,
straight and handsome,
yet that same tree may be
rotten on the inside
Some people are like that
Crooked people will see crooked trees,
just like them
We must strive to be tall, straight and
honest and grounded
with a "good root system" and to know
that just as each tree is an individual
and a member of a family, so are we
Although it gets walked on,
grass keeps coming back
As humans we do that to one another,
yet even when we get "walked upon"
we must show kindness to ourselves and
others and keep coming back
We also nurture, fertilize and
care for the grass just
as we must care for one another
A blade of grass has two sides
to it just as we, as humans
have a smooth side and a rough side
We must recognize this and be kind
to ourselves in order to smooth
out the rough edges
The animals give us the greatest gift
of all and that is the lesson of sharing
They give up their lives so that we can live
In the old days, our ancestors would offer
a prayer to Creation and ask for an animal
to feed the people
When a hunter connected with an animal,
that was an indication the animal was ready to die
After the hunter killed the animal,
its heart was divided among the hunters
and a piece of the heart was offered back
to the Mother Earth with a prayer of thanks
As humans we need to learn to share
with one another and give thanks
for the gifts of life shared with us
The FOUR teachings of
Faith, Honesty, Caring and Sharing
which come with the rock the tree,
the grasses, and the animals keep
us connected with our Mother Earth

Nature

I am in love with the green earth
Charles Lamb
We do not see nature
with our eyes,
but with our understandings
and our hearts
William Hazlett
Man's heart away from nature

Standing Bear
Look at the trees,
look at the birds,
look at the clouds,
look at the stars...
And if you have eyes
you will be able to see
that the whole existence is joyful
Everything is simply happy
Trees are happy for no reason;
they are not going to become
prime ministers or presidents
and they are not going to
become rich and they will never
have any bank balance
Look at the flowers -
for no reason
It is simply unbelievable
how happy flowers are
Osho
I remember a hundred lovely lakes,
and recall the fragrant breath of pine
and fir and cedar and poplar trees
The trail has strung upon it,
as upon a thread of silk,
opalescent dawns and saffron sunsets
It has given me blessed release from
care and worry and the troubled
thinking of our modern day
It has been a return to the
primitive and the peaceful
Whenever the pressure of our
complex city life thins my blood
and benumbs my brain,
I seek relief in the trail;
and when I hear the coyote wailing
to the yellow dawn, my cares fall from me -
I am happy
Hamlin Garland,
McClure's, February 1899
If the sight of the blue skies
fills you with joy,
if a blade of grass
springing up in the fields has
power to move you,
if the simple things of nature
have a message that you understand,
rejoice, for your soul is alive
Eleonora Duse
Our natural world is alive
with beauty and wonder
It's important for our peace of mind
and our enthusiasm for life to
love the world we live in
and care for the earth
and all living things

Please Don't Kill My Baby!! - The Cruelty of Dairy
Please Don't Kill My Baby!...
All females used for milk are torn from their babies shortly after birth
Some try to fight off the attackers, some try to shield their babies with their own bodies, some chase frantically after the transport, some cry pitifully, some withrdaw in silent despair..
Some go trustingly with their keepers only to return to an empty stall..
They all beg for their babies in language that requires no translation:
They bellow, they cry, they moan.. Many continue to call for days and nights on end..
Some stop eating and drinking.. They search feverishly.. Many refuse to give up and will return to the empty spot again and again.. Some withdraw in silent grief..
They all remember to their last breath the face, the scent, the voice, the gait of every baby they carried for nine months, soundered to, birthed with difficulty, bathed, loved, and never got to know, nurture, protect, and watch live..
After repeated cycles of forced impregnations, painful births, relentless milkings, and crushing bereavements, their spirit gives, their bodies wither, their milk dries up.. At the age when, in nature, a female cow would barely enter adulthood, the life of a dairy cow is over.. When her milk “production” declines, she and her other “spent” herd mates are trucked off to slaughter -
Some are pregnant
All are still lactating As they are shoved towards death, they drip milk onto the killing floor-
All Dairy operations, including Organic, exist solely by doing to
millions of defenseless females the worst thing anyone can do to
a mother.. Dairy consumers support this inentional cruelty with
their purchases..

Please Don't Kill My Baby!...

Please Don't let them Kill Me!
Every year, millions of newborns are killed for their mothers’ milk
All babies born to females used for milk production are torn from their mothers shortly after birth. They are barely days old, umbilical chord still attached, coat still slick from the birth fluids, legs wobbly, eyes unfocused.. They are defenseless.. They are frightened.. They cry pitifully for their mothers..
They all beg for their mothers in language that requires no translation.. They live their entire short lives as orphans, their only experience of mother love, one of yearning for it, their only experience of emotional connection, one of absence.. Soon, the memory of the mother’s face, her voice, her scent will fade, but the painful, irrepressible longing for her warmth will still be there..
At four months old, the “veal” calves are corralled into trucks and hauled to slaughter.. As they are dragged onto the killing floor, they are still looking for their mothers, still desperately needing her nurturing presence, especially at that dark time when they are frightened and needing protection more than ever in the midst of the terrible sights, and sounds, and scents of death all around them, and, in their despair, in their want for a shred of consolation and protection, most try to suckle the fingers of their killers..
All dairy production, including Organic, is predicated on
ripping apart mother and child.. Dairy consumers perpetuate this
cruel practice with their purchases..

NEW Veg? What on Earth 2 Eat? (Tips & Recipes)
NEW Veg? What on Earth 2 Eat? (Tips & Recipes)
As you begin your transition to a more wholesome diet, remember that tastes for foods are learned.. You may want to begin slowly, by replacing high-fat dairy products with fat-free versions and eating meat less often.. However, making a complete break from animal foods is so rewarding that it's actually easier for most people..
All your needs for protein, calcium and other vital nutrients are easy to satisfy if you eat enough calories each day from a wide variety of foods.. It's that simple! The only nutrient deserving extra consideration is Vitamin B-12, which, since it is made by bacteria, is not naturally present in plants (or meat).. Your B-12 requirements can be easily met by including a cereal or soymilk fortified with B-12, or a B-12 supplement twice a week..
Step 1
Reduce or eliminate red meat, poultry and fish.. Replace with health-supporting grain, legume and potato-based dishes. Or, start by giving yourself larger servings of rice, potatoes and vegetables at meals -- and ever smaller portions of meat..
Step 2
Increase intake of calcium-rich vegetables -- broccoli, kale, collards, mustard and turnip greens, bok choy, black beans, chick peas, calcium-processed tofu, calcium-fortified soymilk, calcium-fortified orange juice and blackstrap molasses.. Choose more raw fruits and vegetables: cooking destroys nutrients.. Try for 50% of your daily intake as uncooked foods and gradually increase the proportion.. Buy organic..
Step 3
Reduce the "luxury" fats. Hydrogenated oils (like margarine) are artificially thickened vegetable oils that can damage your arteries and have been linked to some cancers.. Gradually eliminate both butter and margarine from your diet. Reduce your use of cooking oils and oil-based salad dressings. Switch to nonfat (or low-fat) versions of prepared foods (and dairy products, if you still eat them).. Read product labels.. Replace eggs in baking with two tablespoons of water per egg -- or try Ener-G egg substitute..
Step 4
Replace dairy products with non-dairy foods.. Delicious milks, cheeses, and frozen desserts based on soy, rice, nuts and seeds are available in health food stores and many grocery stores
Step 5
Reduce refined carbohydrates (white flour, white sugar, white rice, etc..) By choosing whole grain products and natural sweeteners (fruits, juices, maple syrup, etc..)
It's easy - There is an endless supply of fabulous vegetarian recipes from many cultures - A wide variety of cookbooks are available in bookstores and health food stores
There are several lines of fast foods -- pilafs, falafels, humus, "burgers," "tofu-helpers," etc -- for sale across the country - If you can't find them in your store, ask your grocer to carry them -- she or he is always looking for suggestions - Ask your favorite restaurant to serve vegan burgers, past dishes, etc
Here are some more ideas for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Drinks and Snacks:
Breakfast
Cereal Lovers - Try hot or cold whole grain cereal or granola with soy milk and fruit
Use maple syrup or honey instead of sugar - Try apple juice on granola -- it's great!
Bread Lovers - Try whole grain bread, toast, bagels, non-dairy muffins or specialty breads, with raisins or dates and nuts or seeds - Remember, even soy margarines have just as much fat as butter - Try apple butter, pure fruit jams, nut butters, humus or tahini on your bread or bagel
Egg Lovers - Don't knock scrambled tofu until you've tried it -There are easy mixes put out by several companies, as well as recipes in vegetarian cookbooks - Try sautéing cubed firm tofu with anything you would add to an omelet
Other breakfasts - Treat yourself to waffles or pancakes made with soy milk -- try using ½ banana in place of each egg -- and smothered in fresh or hot cooked fruit
Make fruit smoothies with everything you can imagine - Use sweet fruit to make breakfast cobbler or pie and you won't need to add sugar when baking
Lunch or Dinner
Sandwiches - Whole grain breads, avocado, grated carrots, sprouts, lettuce, tomatoes and thinly sliced cucumbers make great sandwiches.. Try nut butters with pure fruit jams or humus with crisp sliced vegetables.. Vegetarian cookbooks have great recipes for spreads.. Falafel is delicious
Salads - Most vegetables can be served raw, chopped small or grated in salads - Cooked beans (garbanzos, kidney, black, lentils, etc ), sprouts, seeds, nuts and avocados are excellent - Try salad dressings with little or no oil and/or flavored vinegars - Stuff your salad into pita bread and add tahini to it
Pasta - Try all those special pastas made with wholesome grains, vegetables and spices -Experiment with marinara, pesto and tomato basil sauces - Try sautéing garlic, onions, summer squash, red bell peppers and tomatoes in a little olive oil -- or in a little sesame oil and tamari (soy sauce)
Burritos or Tacos - Try beans (black beans are great), rice or potatoes, avocado, tomatoes, lettuce or crisp shredded cabbage, salsa, soy cheese, etc.. Use soft corn or whole wheat tortillas - Find your own favorite combinations -Nachos con todo (with everything) is a great fast meal
Potatoes - Potatoes can be baked, steamed, mashed or home-fried.. Try them with sauces, salsas, mustard, in soups or salads. Treat yourself to mushroom gravy.. Remember yams and sweet potatoes
Veggie or Tofu Burgers - There are many varieties in stores - They are delicious and easy to bake, fry, barbecue or microwave -Tofu hot dogs are almost indistinguishable from the original - Pile on the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard, tofu mayo and barbecue sauce
Vegetables - Try stir-fried or steamed, served with brown rice, millet, barley or potatoes.. Ad cubed firm tofu and tamari or mushroom gravy for a feast
Pizza - Use whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, spices, soy cheese, and all your favorite trimmings.. Try almonds, garlic, and fresh tomatoes..
Soups - Beans, lentils, nuts, veggies, grains, potatoes, tofu -- anything is good in soup - Simmer your favorite vegetables for a few minutes and add a little miso for a quick treat -There are many brands of instant soups made with wholesome an delicious ingredients -- just add boiling water, stir and wait
Drinks and Snacks
Milks - Soy, rice, nut or seed milks are perfect substitutes for cow and goat milk-Carob, chocolate and vanilla versions are delicious - Watch out -- some have added oils that make them just as high in fat as cow milk
Juices - Many bottled organic juices are available all across the country - Look for local fresh-squeezed brands - Juice your own - Many vegetable juices are just as delicious as fruit juices - Be daring -- carrot juice can be habit-forming
Water and Tea - Add sliced lemons, limes, oranges or tangerines to fresh clean water -Try herbal iced teas and hot teas
Snacks - Go for crispy foods like popcorn, pretzels, chips, fresh fruit, carrots, nuts, seeds and celery with almond butter-Enjoy cobblers and pies made from sweet fresh fruit, smoothies, non-dairy cookies and muffins, dried fruit, frozen fruit bars and non-dairy frozen desserts like Rice Dream and Tofutti - Avoid preservatives and buy organic
Eat lower on the food chain --..
it's healthy, environmentally sound, economical, fun and delicious
People always ask me, like, what do you eat? Well, just about everything else-There's a lot of things that aren't meat
-- 12th grade student
I hear Bill Clinton talk about the budget and how he wants to help by giving people money for health benefits, and stuff about the hospitals and I just think that if he sent out the word that if you just changed your eating habits just a little bit, it will help your health so much-- 10th grade student
I just don't like eating meat as much because it's not very good for you and when you know what's in that you won't want to eat it either -- 6th grade student
